Dandelion Meadows Penelope Rose *P
+ Soaring Hearts Quil Ateara V *B Babies will be MDGA registered F2 Experimental 52.7% Nubian/47.3% Nigerian Due Date: April 3rd 2023 This is our third year repeating this breeding between Penelope and Quil. This year we freshened their first daughter and she is absolutely stunning! Quil appears to fix several of Penelope's flaws including bringing down overall size and improving rear udder height, lateral attachment, and smoothing topline while not losing much of Penelope's beautiful breed character. Both Quil and Penelope carry a milk star so there should be plenty of milk behind this pairing. Their one freshened daughter this year did very well at the county and state fairs. She took reserve champion at County and first in her class at State and she and Penelope won Dam and Daughter at state. This year bucklings from this pair will be available. I will retain right to first pick doeling, depending on what other doelings are born, but second pick doeling will be available. |
Dandelion Meadows SHQ Jasmine Rose
+ Soaring Hearts Indigo Blue *B Babies will be MDGA registered F3 American Due Date: April 8, 2023 I literally cannot wait for this cross. Last year Indy was very underutilized in our herd and we only got a couple of bucklings out of him, but this year I am super excited to use him on Jazzy. I am hoping he will contribute his very dairy character and open boning, improve leg strength and set, and solidify the beautiful udder height and attachments Jazzy already has, plus solidify the beautiful breed character. Both Indy's Sire and Dam carry production stars, so he will bring plenty of milk to the table. Jazzy just missed her milk star by 3 points as a yearling first freshener this last year, and both her parents carry a milk star, so I have no doubt she will get it next year, making her the second generation in her dam line to carry her star. Indy comes from 3 generations of milk stars. Roaning and moonspots possible. First pick kid from this pairing will be retained. Any other babies will be available. |
Tippsy Hills RB Chrysanthemum Pearl 2*P FMCH
+ Dandelion Meadows Apollo 11 Babies will be F4 American Due Date: April 23.2023 The last 2 years we have bred Chrissy to Quil, and although we have been very happy with the results, we have actually long term been working towards crossing Penelope's line with Chrysanthemum's line to start solidifying a few different components we love in both lines, so this breeding will be the first step in doing that. We are hoping Apollo will improve brisket, rear leg angulation and teat shape for Chrissy, plus continue to improve breed character. Babies have the potential to be roan, polled and moon spotted, although Chrissy also loves to just throw plain bezoar babies. Chrissy carries her milk star (second generation) and was in the top 10 in MDGA by milk weight on milk test in 2020. Apollo's Dam just missed her milk star by 3 points as a yearling first freshener, so I expect she will have no problem getting her milk star next year making her the second generation in her line to get her star. Apollo's sire's dam was 4th generation carrying her milk star, so these babies will have literal tons of milk behind them. We will be retaining any doelings and reserve right to first pick buckling produced from this pairing, although any other bucklings will be available. |
