Quil

"Quil"
Soaring Hearts Quil Ateara V *B (MDGA)  *S (TMGR)
Dual Registered MDGA and TMGR F1 Experimental
DOB 4/6/19

Quil comes to us from Snohomish Washington. His erstwhile owner connected with me at the Oregon State fair in 2019 after looking at my goats. She said she had just the buckling for us. Quil is 37.5% Nubian and 62.5% Nigerian. Given that he is such high percentage Nigerian, Quil might not be a good fit for a lot of breeding programs, but for us with our large high percentage Nubian does, he was perfect. His kids have ranged in size from 3.5lbs to 6lbs.

Quil won reserve champion senior buck at the PNWMDG Show in 2021, unfortunately, there were not enough bucks entered to sanction the show, but we are still proud of him. He has placed in the top half consistently in the v-shows we have entered him in. He has really matured into a good looking buck!

Quil inherits a milk star from both his sire and dam, so he is a *B buck as well. He has several daughters in production/testing homes so I expect that he will eventually earn his +B as well.

We freshened his first daughter this year and I am absolutely thrilled with what he brought to the table with her! Improved udder attachments, improved topline, and improved front end assembly, plus he has brought down size in all his offspring. His daughter won first in her class at the MDGA/TMGR show at the Oregon State Fair this year and best udder in class and the Judge had very nice things to say about her.

Although Quil's ears are not to standard, his offspring all have better ears than he does.

Quil has improved toplines on the majority of the kids he has thrown. He is a very easy to handle buck with good manners and is gentle on the does.

Quil and Embry's Dam: Soaring Hearts Esme *P

According to Esme's owner, Esme milks like turning on a faucet and her udder is buttery soft.  She produces over 10lb of milk a day, and has had easy pregnancies and labors.  She has great rear udder height, a nice medial, and carries all that milk beautifully.  I also got to meet her when picking up these guys, and she is just as pretty in real life with an elegant carriage, and very dairy skin.

Quil's Sire, HIGHLAND RANCH 8SR IT'S PAYDAY *B

is an ADGA purebred Nigerian who came from Highland Ranch in Snohomish Washington. He was chosen to breed to Esme to improve foreudder extension and bring down size.
More pictures and info about him can be found on Highland Ranch's website: https://www.highland-ranch.com/bucks
