Hawthorne would definitely be a keeper here except he is related to every single other goat on my farm, so this is a great opportunity for someone to pick up a gorgeous boy with an amazing pedigree. I will add more pictures of him once I have someone to help hold him still.
His sire has consistently brought size down in his offspring, and I expect Hawthorne will do the same.
His Dam, Chrysanthemum,is so easy to milk. Her udder is buttery soft and her orifices are good size. Her teats are a tiny bit of a weird shape but they actually are incredibly easy to hand milk. She has nice stable long lactations. She earned her permanent Grand Championship at the PNWMDG show in June 2021 on a blazingly hot 116 degree day, as well as Best in Show!! She also got her milk star in 2020 and was in the top 10 points for the MDGA in 2020. In 2020 she took Grand Champion under one of the judges in this spring's v-show, and reserve champion under one of the judges in the summer v-show! 2021 being what it was, we did not milk test, or do much in the way of shows, but she is still a joy to milk and puts lots into the bucket every day.
Hawthorne's sire's dam has her milk star so Hawthorne inherits his *B. His sire, Quil was chosen to improve rear leg angulation as well as teat shape and placement while maintaining the body composition I love so much. Quil's Sire's dam, SGCH Blue Bear BD Hershey Kisses 1*M VEEE90 is retired now but you can read all about her here.
